The Challenge

A well-established rendering and stucco design company based in Hertfordshire came to us with a common problem. They had been relying on word of mouth for over a decade, but referrals were slowing down and competitors were starting to appear above them on Google.

Their website was outdated, not mobile-friendly, and had no presence on Google Maps. They were invisible to the growing number of homeowners searching online for rendering services in their area.

Our Approach

We started with a comprehensive SEO audit that revealed several critical issues:

  • No Google Business Profile claimed or optimised
  • Website not indexed properly (missing sitemap, broken robots.txt)
  • No location-specific content (single generic “services” page)
  • Zero backlinks from local directories or industry sites
  • No schema markup of any kind

Phase 1: Foundation (Month 1 to 2)

We designed and built a new website focused on conversion and local SEO. Each service (rendering, K-rend, monocouche, stucco) received its own dedicated page optimised for location-specific search terms. We implemented LocalBusiness and Service schema markup across the site.

We claimed and fully optimised their Google Business Profile, adding high-quality project photos, accurate service categories, and a compelling business description.

Phase 2: Visibility (Month 2 to 4)

We built citations across 40+ UK business directories, ensuring consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) data everywhere. We secured backlinks from three local construction industry publications and the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce.

We set up a review collection system that made it easy for satisfied customers to leave Google reviews. Within three months, they went from 3 reviews to 18.

Phase 3: Growth (Month 4 to 6)

We created detailed case study content for five completed projects, each with before and after photos and location-specific optimisation. We published two blog posts per month targeting long-tail keywords like “K-rend rendering cost Hertfordshire” and “best render colour for Victorian house”.
